13 November 2006 - Hong Kong film AFTER THIS OUR EXILE
The Tokyo International Film Festival yesterday held an
award presentation ceremony. Hong Kong film AFTER THIS OUR EXILE (FU JI)
received the Best Asian Film Award and the Best Art Contribution Award.
Although lead Aaron Kwok Fu Sing was working on a film in Dunhuang he was
very excited.
AFTER THIS OUR EXILE with its good review first won the Best Asian
Film Award, which automatically put it into competition, where it also
received the Best Art Contribution Award. Because lead Sing Sing was
working on the film in Dunhuang and could not attend the award ceremony,
only director Patrick Tam Ka Ming, Charlie Yeung Choi Nei and the
executive producer attended. Although the director was very happy, he
dared not take credit. He felt that everyone has put in an effort so
everyone deserved the award.
Sing Sing was very excited to learn that the film has won two
awards. He happily said, "This award's credit goes to the director
because he turned a drama into something with such a high appreciation
index. It received Asian recognition. Hopefully after returning to Hong
Kong he can treat me to dinner." Yeung Choi Nei was able to attend the
award ceremony and was shocked by the scene. "This award's artistic
content is very heavy. The merit goes to the director. At the same time
I have to thank him for giving me the chance to participate in this
film. Hopefully when the film opens in Hong Kong it also has a good
response." She also said that after years of making movies this
performance has already taught her a lesson!
